Coral and Purple eyeshadow! As part of their brand-new Reel Sexy Collection, MAC has released "Dynamic Duo" eyeshadow pairs. I chose Dynamic Duo 1 ($27.50), which includes a coral with gold pearl and a matte violet-plum (the individual shades don't have names).

The eyeshadows just look gorgeous in the pan, don't they? I primed my lids with Too Faced Shadow Insurance and got ready to slap on some shadow.

Sadly, the pigmentation on these was sorely lacking! I had to apply so much shadow to get it to show up on my lids. Once I did, it looked quite lovely, but I'm not sure that I want to go through such a long layering process every time.
Overall, I am disappointed with MAC Reel Sexy Dynamic Duo 1. I am disappointed about being disappointed, too! The colors looked beautiful in the pan and I was so hopeful about their potential. I can make them look pretty good with a lot of work, but it just doesn't seem worth it.

Yeah, although I think it might be getting a little better as I use it and break up the top layer a little bit. I had a similar problem with MAC Extra Dimension in Sweet Heat. Do you like coral and/or purple eye shadow?
