MAC Beth Ditto Powder to the People Eyeshadow Review and Swatches

I can't say I'm in love with MAC Beth Ditto Powder to the People Eyeshadow ($38).

Sure, the product is adorable. I love the polka dot pattern and the bright colors look so fun. But considering the very high price, MAC Beth Ditto Powder to the People has too many flaws to be worth considering unless you are primarily out to collect limited-edition MAC products.

First of all, this color combination just does not appeal to me. Blue, yellow, pink, peach and reddish brown? I might wear 1-2 of these colors at a time, but figuring out a complete eye look using just MAC Beth Ditto Powder to the People seems daunting to me. However, I know that there are some creative people who would love to play with this unconventional array of colors, so I can't knock MAC Beth Ditto Powder to the People entirely on that.

Perhaps more importantly, the quality of the eyeshadows is not very impressive. I expected such bright-looking shades to POP with pigmentaion, but they are surprisingly sheer. I applied many layers to get them to show up for these swatches.

Further, although the dot pattern in the pan is cute, I think it makes it a little difficult to get the color you want on your brush. When I want pink, I don't want pink AND blue to end up on my brush. This is a pretty minor nitpick, but I think expensive palettes should be practical and easy to use.

Bottom Line: MAC Beth Ditto Powder to the People is not worth the money. The colors are unflattering and not particularly well-formulated. Finally, while the polka dot pattern is cute, I don't think it is a very practical way to package eyeshadow.

  1. Love the new font in your header. I think that the idea of this eyeshadow is genius but the colors that they chose are not very wearable for every day.
