Maybe it's just my twisted sense of humor, but I thought it would be apropos to look at this product from jolly old England on the Fourth of July!  It's been over two hundred years since Independence, U.S.-British relations have healed -- why not have some fun playing with this adorable, Union Jack-themed product from Rimmel London?

Rimmel London Glam'Eyes HD Quad Eye Shadow in Purple Reign ($6.49) is a fantastic drugstore eye shadow quad. The formula manages to be extremely high quality at a very low price. The pigmentation is FAB and each shadow is super soft and blendable.

Rimmel London Glam'Eyes HD Quad Eye Shadow in Purple Reign includes a dark, greyish purple shimmer, a muted medium purple shimmer, a fuchsia-pink shimmer, and a bright, silvery-white shimmer. The white shade in particular is extremely densely pigmented, so it shows up quite intensely and provides an eye-popping contrast for the purple shades.

For this look, I applied the white shade from Rimmel London Glam'Eyes HD Quad Eye Shadow in Purple Reign to my lid and brow bone. I patted the darkest purple shade into the crease and blended the fuchsia shadow in between the crease and brow bone.

Look at that bright white shimmer! 

I love how the purple shades in Rimmel London Glam'Eyes HD Quad Eye Shadow in Purple Reign are all pretty different from one another while still being complementary. This opens up many options for experimentation and exploring new eye shadow looks.

The only problem I have with Rimmel London Glam'Eyes HD Quad Eye Shadow in Purple Reign is that some of the shadows are very small and difficult to swipe up with a brush. I adore the Union Jack design so much, but it makes application more challenging than it needs to be.
