Beauty For Less with the Sephora Collection

[Hey everyone! Today I'm guest-posting over at Fantabulously Frugal about some of my favorite low-budget beauty finds at Sephora. Regular readers will recognize many of these products!]

For many, Sephora is synonymous with high-quality, high-class beauty. The iconic black and white storefront is enough to stir feelings of excitement, glamour and sophistication in the hearts of makeup lovers everywhere. Unfortunately, high prices keep some customers away from this luxe beauty destination.

This is completely unnecessary, because it IS entirely possible to get the quality you expect from Sephora without panicking when you see your bank balance.

Enter the Sephora Collection. Although it doesn't receive tons of buzz, Sephora's in-house private label is chock full of high-quality, on-trend products at 100% affordable prices. Let's take a look at some of my favorite items to get a full face of makeup for less.

LIPS

Glossy lipsticks are all the rage this season, with new releases from high-end labels like Yves Saint Laurent, Make Up For Ever, Shiseido, and Laura Mercier. Sephora Collection takes on the trend with the Rouge Shine Lipsticks ($12) which combine the gorgeous pigment of a lipstick with the sexy sheen of a gloss at half the cost of high-end brands.

I tried Sephora Collection Rouge Shine Lipstick in No. 28 Just Married and No. 33 Get Rich. Sephora Collection Rouge Shine Lipstick in Just Married is a sheer, shimmer-free peach with lots of shine that's perfect for a natural and lovely makeup look, while Get Rich is a deep, bold berry red that includes shimmer for an extra dazzling finish.

EYES

I think that the Sephora Collection makes some of the best affordable eye makeup around. For eyeliner, I love the bold metallic sheen and creamy formula of Sephora Collection Flashy Liners Waterproof. These eyeliners are extremely water-resistant so they're perfect for lining the inner rim of your lashline. Plus, they're a steal at $8 each.

I'm also a big fan of an even cheaper eyeliner from the Sephora Collection: the Nano Eyeliner is extremely creamy and pigmented and retails for only $1 - $5. I own the shade 03 Pure White, which I use to line my waterline for a pretty, wide-awake look.

For this photo, I tightlined my upper lashline with Sephora Collection Flashy Liner in 16 Flashy Ultra Brown and lined my waterline with Sephora Collection Nano Eyeliner in Pure White. I'm wearing Sephora Collection Full Action Extreme Effect Mascara in Black ($15) on my lashes and Sephora Collection Prisma Chrome Eyeshadow in Gold Reflections ($5) on my lid.

BLUSH

Now we come to the most expensive item on my list. Sephora Collection Microsmooth Blush Duo in Guava Glow ($17) includes a shimmering highlight color and deep, radiant matte shade that can be used together or separately for a variety of glowing makeup looks.

The highlight side of Sephora Collection Microsmooth Blush Duo in Guava Glow is a shimmering golden peach. It's close to NARS Blush in Orgasm, but this blush has finer glitter. The matte side of Sephora Collection Microsmooth Blush Duo in Guava Glow is an absolutely gorgeous coral watermelon color. The shade is fairly bright, but it also has depth that makes it a wonderful choice for contouring.

If you really want to get the most bang for your buck at Sephora, check out the Sale section. I picked up Sephora Collection Prisma Chrome Eyeshadow in Gold Reflections, a gorgeous yellow-gold shade, for $5 and Sephora Collection Crystal Lip Gloss for $7. Many Sephora Collection products go on sale for as little as $3.

Even though Sephora has a rightfully-deserved reputation as every girl's destination for sophisticated beauty, the store's trademark quality doesn't have to be expensive. The Sephora Collection offers consistently high-quality, on-trend products at reasonable prices. Be sure to check out this fabulous in-house brand to get a Sephora look for less!
